Case Manager/Intern Job Description

The job of a Case Manager with The IMPACT Project is a difficult, yet fulfilling experience. Each Case Manager is responsible for the individual needs of approximately 15 clients residing in various foster homes. Some tasks include meeting with clients, school enrollment, medication management, job hunting, visitation requirements and all communication with various individuals of the treatment team. The variety of responsibilities requires an individual who is flexible, yet able to easily multi-task. Those who are able to assimilate to new situations and make quick thinking decisions on a case by case basis are often quite successful. Additionally, Case Managers must be familiar with the juvenile justice system and governing principles to best meet the needs of their clients. Applicants are required to have completed a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field, and also be able pass Child Abuse, Criminal and FBI background checks.

IMPACT also supports the education of local college students through internships. Most often students are juniors or seniors earning their degree in a related field. Each internship experience is different, in that many responsibilities are distributed with the hopes of providing a well rounded experience. The best time for interns at IMPACT is during the school year, as that is when there is the most happening within the agency.
